FEG,
I shot the EAA Witness in .38 Super. What a great shooting pistol/caliber. Hot rounds with little recoil. No wonder that caliber is so popular in IPSC/USPSA. No jams and very accurate. I was shooting handloads, 115 gr. FMJ, CCI 500 primers with 8.3 grains AA#7 for about 1150fps. I love that grip configuration. Reminds me of the Browning Hi-Power. My big problem now is finding a holster and 15 rd. mags. Unfortunately, I live in the Republic of New Jersey so I can't buy the 17 rounders I saw on-line at Midway USA. |

CinTzu wrote: .38 Super and 10mm are my two leading excuses for someday getting a Witness. The problem is that they are also popular in 1911 pistols, which are easier to find around here. I've never actually seen a large frame Witness for sale in my area, unless it was used. That sounds like a nice, smooth, flat-shooting load. I wonder how it will do with the 130 gr bullets? SP-8 would probably be an awesome powder, but Nobel only publishes 9x19mm data. I'm glad you like it. My father used to have an old Colt in .38 Super, but he sold it when they first started going for something like $2,000.00. I've always wanted to handload for the cartridge.

Howdy, and thanks for the welcome.
I am a college student who just turned 21. My dad basically said that if I get good grades this semester, he'll give me his CZ 75 B. I have shot it a few times and love it, and I'd like to know more about it. So I've joined these forums to get more info about it. Do you have to do anything special in particular to join the specialized forums (clubs)? I guess I would be interested in the CZ 75 B one. Thanks! |

Hi, I've lurked around here for quite a while, and was registered a long time ago. I've been talking to a friend of mine who is quite active around
here and he reiterated why I should join anew. So, here I am, looking for good info and the occasional big fish story.

Having been a lurker on this forum, and on the CZ-USA.com site, and the CZUB site and the few local CZ dealers for a few years - I finally bought my first
pistol - the CZ P-01! I thank the founders and developers, administrators, moderators and many very informative contributors to this forum - which I have
learned alot from already. Thanks! This forum is a truly great depository of experience, information, knowledge and wisdom! Being new to pistol ownership - I
have far more questions to ask than help to offer. I will try to contribute my experiences - such as with aftermaket products and the such. Greetings CZ Forum
community!

Howdy folks! Just found this forum the other day, pretty cool! I've owned 3 75B's, a 40P, a PCR, and just picked up a real early 97B. I really think CZ
guns are terribly overlooked by the general public, the quality is awesome and I have yet to find one that wasn't really accurate. What's not to like!
Looking forward to getting to know you Guys ! Jon |

Just joined today. I have been on the Brian Enos forum for sometime and I am a NRA Life Member and an active competitor in USPSA, IDPA, , NRA Action Pistol,
and I just joined ICORE. I got exposed to a CZ TACT SPORT at a local match today and after sending a few rounds down range I had to find out more about these
handguns. I have a Witness Match but the TACT SPORT just feels better in my hand and seems to be a good shooter.

Hello from southeastern NC!
New member here. Picked up a new full-sized 10mm and figured I better tap some wisdom here (and maybe contribute a little if I develop any). I've had the "Baby Eagle" Tan known as the Jericho for years and it proved itself more than capable years ago at Blackwater. It's the design that "get's no respect" as the late Rodney Dangerfield might say. While I've been using the Browning and Glock platforms for years, I welcome the opportunity to see what this poly 10 can do. Gary in se NC |

Hello all, name here is Tony, and I recently purchased my first CZ rimfire rifle. The 452-2E-ZKM Special Trainer. Fantastic rifle, and it shoots circles around
the far more expensive Weatherby Mk XXII I also have. I plan to take this Weatherby back to the shop it came from, and trade it in on a new 453 Varmit, so
I'll soon be a 2 CZ owner.
Not to hi jack the thread here, but I did attempt to start my own new topic to introduce myself, but this forum did not allow me to do so, it gave me a space for the title, but not a subject area, and then denied me the ability to post without anything in the subject area. Does Yuku have issues with Mozilla.....??? Never Mind......I found the problem, and it's Mozilla, I logged back on with I.E. and everything works.....

Hi. New member here looking for some info. I have a CZ85 I bought NIB quite a few years ago. I know it's a pre-B model, but am not sure which version it
is. Some of the markings are CZ85 (of course) and Made in Czech Republic. I'm looking for some spare 15 round magazines for it as one after-market I have
is giving me grief. I saw some sites that say their CZ mags (i.e. MecGar) will not work in pre-B models. But I've also read here that some pre-B owners
have not had any problems with them. And to add to my confusion, there seem to be some 'transitional' models. So I would like to know what version it
is so I can go to the right sub forum for more info. Other than the troublesome mag, I enjoy shooting it. Thanks for any info.

The later the better. You have what appears to be a relatively late Standard model (as opposed to the Lux or Combat). CZ 85s occasionally used the modern (Type B) controls as early as the 1980s. It may not be a Transitional, despite the modern controls. The early versions with modern controls usually have the spur hammer, though. Your year of manufacture is represented by a two-digit code in the oval behind the extractor. Type A CZ 85 = 1986-1992. Transitional = 1993-1994. Type B CZ 85 = 1995-present. It is definitely NOT a CZ 85B. (No retaining pin for the firing pin block is visible.) If I was forced to guess, I would say it is a 1994 Transitional.

Thanks. The 2 digit code is 94, so your guess would appear to be correct. So there is a fairly good chance the MecGar mags will fit (if I can actually find someplace that has them in stock). |

I have had a c&r CZ52 for about a year and love the gun. Currently looking to trade a SA XD40 for a CZ75b or CZ40b if any one interested with an extra.
Really love the CZ line of guns both long gun and hand gun. I have had the opportunity to shoot both and own one of history that I can outshoot the XD with,
my hand loves the ergonomics of the CZ guns, SA just doesnt work.
