As far as I know, the pre-B and the standard B barrel are the same, and interchangeable. (Any differences could be easily adjusted when fitting.)
I have personally interchanged them in the past.... there may be exceptions. |

There are at least three different barrels for CZ 75s. I couldn't find anything currently made that could be made to fit in my pre-Bs.

Strange. I guess the various pre-Bs I've owned were all close to transitional models. The barrels looked a little different, but all seemed to fit and
work in a B model. (One was much older, but I'm not sure I tried swapping the barrel on that one.)
Of course, if there were three different barrels, I wonder if the EFK barrels will work in all pre-Bs? |

The very earliest barrels (prototypes and 1976 demonstrators) had various different barrel designs. Basically, these lacked the oversized chamber area
(Browning-Petter) and used a simpler Modified Browning with lugs only. I'm saying this based entirely on pictures and schematics. In the unlikely event you
ever found one of these pistols, I wouldn't shoot it, much less start replacing parts.
It also looks like the 75s made from 1977-1979 may have slightly different barrel specs than later models. Based on my own limited experiences, all 75/85 pistols made from 1986 - present definitely use the same barrel specs. The question then becomes what about the 1980-1985 models? If someone put a gun to my head, I would guess the three different barrels match these production ranges: 1. 1977-1979; 2. 1980-1985; and 3. 1986-2008. There are quite a few logical arguments against this breakdown, however. First, there are virtually no 1977-1979 models in North America, much less the U.S. I'm not sure why anyone would bother to make an aftermarket barrel for these, since they are virtually the only "collectible" CZ 75s available to the general consumer. (In other words, if someone had one, they wouldn't be likely to alter the pistol.) Second, CZ barrels don't necessarily "drop-in" in the first place. They are all hand-fitted to the slide. Thus, it is theoretically possible that two consecutively serial numbered, current production CZ 75Bs couldn't swap barrels, due to the fitting issues. (I really doubt it, but it is possible.) In short, the three different versions of aftermarket barrels could just represent a range of sizes within spec., so as to minimize the handfitting for the consumer. It's a neat idea, but I haven't heard of an aftermarket manufacturer trying this before.
Mr. Mirek Topolánek, the Prime Minister of the Czech Republic, presents U.S. President George W. Bush with a CZ 550 rifle made by Česká zbrojovka a.s., Uherský Brod. The rifle was hand engraved and chambered in .308 Winchester.
