I've had several Sphinxs from the 2000 series, and have a 2000 Compact, still. Wonderful guns. (Basically, hand-tuned CZs, in stainless steel.) I´m not to good at targetshooting at 25meters but the second time i went to the range with my 3000 i had as worst 44p on ten consecutive 5-shot series with Magtech 124gr factory ammo. I usually only average about 35p with 9mm guns. The groupings with handheld shooting using an armrest is about 1,5" for me. I had a friend trying it out that is a newbie at shooting he had 5 consecutive 43p series at 25meters and he is now placing an order for 3000 :) As a point of interrest they made a test on grouping and precision on a IPSC shooters brand new 3000. Later they did the same test after he had shot 60.000!!! rounds in the same barrel and the grouping and precision was exactly the same still. How is that for buildquality. Posts: 16340 Feb 19 08 4:03 AM CZF Chief Moderator CZF Supporter Reply Quote More My Recent Posts	The IPSC (Standard, Tactical Sport, etc.) series of CZs are probably a very good (and more cost-effective) alternative, with similar levels of build quality (similar, but not the same) at a much lower price. On a budget, there's no question about which way I'd go. But if you ever get rich, and just feel like burning some money....

Posts: 6 Feb 19 08 5:42 PM Reply Quote More My Recent Posts	A friend of mine has the CZ tactical sport and i can tell you that the build quality, fitting, triggerpull just about everything is lightyears apart from the Sphinx 3000. The Sphinx just crushes the tactical sport or any other CZ for that matter. Sure it´s a bit pricey but if it really is a once in a lifetime investment, cause you won´t ever get rid of it. I will try to post some detail pics of my Sphinx later this week so that you can see the quality of the crafstmanship behind it so that you might get a better understanding of how superior it really is.

Posts: 243 Feb 19 08 5:47 PM Reply Quote More My Recent Posts	I'm thinking of selling some guns I don't ever shoot in order to purchase a Sphinx 3000......I've always loved Sphinx guns. With that said, my Witness Elite Limited guns costing much less are awfully nice and shoot better than I ever will. But there's something about a Sphinx........hmmmmmm........closing on the sale of my house the end of the month and also got a surprise today of about $1400 escrow refund on the home I bought a few months ago so I'll see where I stand financially.

Double Action trigger pull ?? Are they double action ?? With the straight trigger , it looks like a single action only gun. Also seen the mags were $70 each --- anyplace to buy them cheaper ??

At $3,000 a pop for the pistol, I guess it's sort of academic. After seeing duvdevan's pictures, I am initiating a new program: OPERATION SELL PLASMA. Mr. Mirek Topolánek, the Prime Minister of the Czech Republic, presents U.S. President George W. Bush with a CZ 550 rifle made by Česká zbrojovka a.s., Uherský Brod. The rifle was hand engraved and chambered in .308 Winchester.

Posts: 243 Feb 22 08 6:12 PM Reply Quote More My Recent Posts	When I was talking to Mr. Wipf (from Sphinx) he indicated the AT2000 mags would not fit the 3000 model. Not sure if there's other CZ/EAA mags that fit so maybe Sphinx mags ae the only option for the 3000.

I've learned that mags can be a problems with the 2000 line. While CZ mags will work, Sphinx doesn't really like them. The Sphinx ejector and the CZ mags are marginally incompatible (one hits the other.) I've been OK with mine, and have a few Sphinx mags, but its a problem. Switzerland won't let Sphinx sell mags to people in the US. The Swiss government considers mags (and a few other parts) a "military" product, which are tightly controlled. You have to get the mags from an importer, here in the US. That's no longer a problem, but it was for a while. It does limit your options.
