I'm looking for practical/"tactical" (I hate to even use that word, since I'm not wearing anything with black ripstop nylon & velcro) modifications for a CZ75B?

I bought the gun on a whim because it was a great price and I always wanted one. Sat in the safe for a year before taking it shooting. It quickly became my go-to fun gun. So I started shooting IDPA w/it and it's great. I don't see any reason it couldn't be a great carry gun, once I get...

Two Tactical Sports questions

Due to the lack of the online store, I called CZ and ordered the adjustable rear sight. Got it installed (man that dovetail is tight) and all is well except the elevation adjustment is almost as high as it will go to stay on target at 25 yards and white box Winchester 115's. Is there a front sight that goes with the factory LPA rear sight? Or should I just file down the front sight and re-blue?

Why is the TS shipped with extra slide stops? Do they wear out quick or sometimes...

Hat Cams used in competition

Hi, I've been searching for a good Hat Camera I can use for practice and competition. I've seen alot used in youtube (i.e. Todd Jarrets and others too) but have no idea what brands/models were being used. So far I've heard of two, the Oregon Scientific ATC2k ($140) but thought the video samples weren't too good. The 2nd I heard of is the Samsung SC-X300L but is $400 ($200 more than the ATC2k). Any suggestions?

I would like to shoot USPSA production if possible, with my CZ-40b.

In the USPSA handbook, "2008handgunrulesindexed.pdf" on their website, appendix D4, I read the rules for production handguns:

I picked up IPSC to give me some more realistic training for my P-01 shooting. I know it's not a true target pistol, but I'd rather practice with what I carry, especially since you'll never see me on the winner's podium. Then, based on this forum's recommendation, I went and got the Brian Enos book and have been working with that info.

I thought my 9-to-11 o'clock hits were because I had been placing my left index over the front of the trigger guard and...

Finding the right CZ for me

I have been shooting for many years with friends but never serious target shooting. After shooting some steel recently, I am hooked. I am researching the local clubs now but my schedule sucks. Hard to find time to meet up with the locals. So I plan to expand the range that I have to get my practice in.
I currently have an XD40 with enough goodies that I think it would do well in the Production class. But it is the .40. After talking with the guys at the Custom CZ shop, I want the 9mm...

Anyway, I gonna take several pistol courses this year starting soon and was wondering if any of you have used your cz's for these hi-rnd training sessions (1k-1.5k+). I know plenty cz's are used in competitions but these courses are going to be hard use, hardcore, hard climate, rugged enviroment, intense drill type courses which I often see user's bring...

CZ Sport Tactical

So I went to the local gun show this weekend to pick up my Ruger LCP. After I got it, I ran across a Cz 75 Sport Tactical. I think I have to have this gun! The pics I have seen do not do this pistol justice. I really liked the trigger and balance of this pistol. Grip is very similar to my Baby Eagle. So, now I am all about finding the right CZ for me. I looked at some other CZ's like the SP 01 and its variants. I have other pistols that have a tactical rail and do not need it for...

Thigh Holster for Action Steel

I have recently become interested in participating in an action steel match that the local range puts on monthly. Two of my friends already do it, and they've got me interested. I've never done a shooting competition, so I've never purchased a holster. One of my friends uses a thigh holster, and I'm not sure what the other guy uses. Anyway, I was wondering if there are advantages/disadvantages to using a belt holster vs. thigh holster.

Superstition Mystery 3-Gun Match

Volunteered to help with the match here this week (http://www.smm3gun.com), and although I didn't get lucky at the Range Officer Prize drawing (there was a couple of gorgeous AR's and schweet little CZ75B that were calling to me...), but I still ended up with a fair amount of schwag, a great tan, and a urgent desire to get myself an AR-15 (and soon!).

This is a great USPSA match if anyone gets the chance to shoot it..
12 stages, lot of rounds..
the stages are imaginiative, fast to shoot..this year they built a cave and had a low light stage..very cool..

anyway..CZ ended up at the top of production division...
1st place to Yong Lee, of washington.
2nd place..

Best range bag for USPSA/IDPA?

I've been using a cheapo gear bag as a range bag for competitions, but it doesn't organize my gear at all. I'd like something that'll hold my pre-B 75 in it's gun case as well carrying my holster, mags, ammo, and ammo carriers neatly so I don't have root around for things from stage to stage.

Ideas? What do you all use, and why?

how to shoot better off-hand?

I'm trying to improve my left handed shooting. I'm ok at it but I've noticed that when I fire left handed I'm bringing the pistol in front of my dominant eye which causes my wrist to bend; this doesn't seem like good technique to me. Should I continue doing it this way or should I try and use some other method such as just relying on my trigger finger to aim? It seems to be working OK but if I can get even better I'd certainly like to.

Ipsc standard/TS mag question

I have an IPSC standard. I am using the 16 round tubes that came out with the gun. I just bought a couple of Angus's base pads and the extra power springs. I am using the followers from the 16 round mags. I am only getting 19 rounds in the mag. 20 is impossible to get in. Do the newer 17 round mags have different followers or is there a different follower to get 20 in there?

Front site focus

Everything I have read or been taught deals with focusing on the front site when aiming a handgun. My problem is being 53 years old. I need reading glasses to focus on anything within arms reach. While shooting at the range last week I tried some shooting with the reading glasses on and that really messes up the distance view. I had to aim at the center of the white paper because I couldn't make out the bullseye target.

I can't be the only old guy that likes to shoot....

CZ 75 Compact .40S&W w/9mm top end in IDPA competition

Thought I'd share some photos of a pistol I shot this last Saturday at our club's IDPA classifier match.

I shot 2 different divisions with the same gun using the 9mm top end on a Compact .40S&W frame. Cocked & locked for ESP and hammer down for the first shot for ESP.

It was a lot of fun to shoot.
