97b for EDC

How is the 97b (non-decocker) carried in double-action? Is there a way to release the hammer after priming one in the pipe? I will (hopefully) be getting a 97b next week, and want to try and carry it--I've always/only carried DA w/ a decocker (SigP230, CZ50) and not to sure I want to carry SA ready to go. Any thoughts?

CZ 97BD with a Tac Rail?

Just curious as to the interest in a rail on the .45. The similarities between the SP01 Tactical, and the future 97BD make it seem like the rail would be a "shoe in". I contacted CZ-USA yesterday, and received a timely response today:

Unfortunately we are not going to have a tactical rail or LH version coming
out. We will however be offering a 97 with a decocker here in the near

I picked up my pistol on a Saturday in May, put 300 rounds through it then sent it to Angus Hobdell for upgrades which included a competition hammer, trigger job, lighter mainspring, fiber optic front and competition rear site. I'VE HAD 4 FAILURES TO FEED OUT OF 250 ROUNDS OF FULL METAL JACKET FACTORY LOADS. I'VE CLEANED THE PISTOL AFTER THE FIRST 50, AFTER THE NEXT 100, AND AFTER THE LAST 100. SO I DON'T BELIEVE IT'S AN ISSUE OF IMPROPER GUN CARE. I'VE READ A FEW THREADS ABOUT SENDING THE BARREL BACK TO CZ FOR A RAMP JOB TO CORRECT THIS PROBLEM. 97B and hollow points

Doing some reloading for my new 97 and have discovered something I'm sure many already know or have experienced. My 97 will feed lead SWC's and "round" nose hollow points fine. It will even feed the Hornady JHP-XTP design if don't load over 7 rounds. The XTP is a HP with a flat nose design. When the mag is full (10 rounds) the first few rounds will nose dive onto the feed ramp, locking up the pistol. The feed ramp is mirror smooth, so it's really the spring...

CZ97 in the movies

I just saw the movie Wanted tonight, and much to my surprise, about 2/3 of the way through the film, there was a CZ97 RSR special with blued slide and nickel frame! I was quite amazed to see it, particularly the RSR special, since there were only 60 of them made.

97B in Limited 10

Been using my Shadow for IPSC Production class for a couple months now. Is my first CZ so I'm not yet versed on everything CZ so please bare with me.

Ran a box (20 rounds) of these today through my CZ97B without any feeding or extraction problems. Will next try a box of the 230gr. of the same. Hitherto the Walmart-bought economy Remington UMC JHPs also offered no problems. Other than PowerBall, I have shot ball ammo of various makes. Maybe an ongoing thread regarding JHP reliability by brand could help to sort out what works and what doesn't, and for whom.

Has any one used or tried Pachmayr Sure Grip panels on the 97B? I want to try PA02697 (CZ75) or PA03399 (TZ-TA).

I was wondering if they will work or if they are worth giving them a try.

Carry Reliability

Is the 97B reliable using JHP, i.e. HydraShok?

Also, is the grip much larger than a 90-two? That is what I use for carry currently, and it is considerably too small for my hand - even with a Hogue on it.

ONLY the first two rounds in the mag want to nosedive to the bottom of the feed ramp. The remaining eight rounds are essentially a direct feed into the chamber. This is weak mag springs or worn follower, correct?

FEG Hello, this is my 97B. I had problems with the original recoil, because too short. I mounted the recoil long and is perfect. I have also done some minor work after maker. These are the photo. HIMO, is fantastic! Tell me what you think.

97B Barrel lug failure

This was posted on another forum....

According to the poster this occured with factory ammo in a 97B. It locked the gun up tight and he had a devil of a time getting the slide off. He used a rubber mallet. Even with a mallet I would be surprised if the mallet did this damage.

Anyway my question is whether this is a known failure, if CZ had some bad barrels at...
